How to Draw a Groom

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a groom in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.

  2. Step 2: The face

Across the middle of the face draw 2 big round eyes with black dots. Add a nose, smile and eyebrows.

  3. Step 3: Neat hair

Draw a curve over the head from side to side at eyebrow height. Join the ends with a wavy hairline.

Tip Rub out the top of the head inside the hair.

  4. Step 4: Neck and jacket

Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a jacket with round shoulders, stopping at the right one.

  5. Step 5: Shirt and bow tie

Inside the jacket draw a tall V, with a collar line each side. Add a bow tie at the top.

  6. Step 6: Sleeves

From each shoulder draw a sleeve down round a soft elbow to the wrist, then up to the armpit.

Tip Rub out the jacket's shoulder line inside each sleeve.

  7. Step 7: Mitten hands

Under each sleeve draw a mitten growing out of the wrist, with a thumb bump on the inside.

  8. Step 8: Trousers

Start at the bottom left of the jacket. Draw 2 long trouser legs down and stop at the bottom right.

Tip The legs are long: they reach nearly to the bottom of the page.

  9. Step 9: Shoes and ground

Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the shoes.

  10. Step 10: Buttons and flower

Draw 2 small buttons down the jacket below the V, and a little flower on the left chest.

  11. Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the face, neck and hands peach, with a pink circle on each cheek. Keep the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Red tie, brown hair

Colour the bow tie and flower red, and the hair brown.

  13. Step 13: Grey suit, black shoes

Colour the jacket, sleeves and trousers dark grey around the flower, shirt and buttons. Colour the shoes black.
