How to Draw a Crowd
Draw a crowd in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: four heads.
Step 1: Four heads
Across the middle of your paper draw 4 egg heads in a row, almost touching.
Tip Leave room above them for more heads.
Step 2: Happy faces
On each head draw 2 dot eyes and a wide smile.
Step 3: Four hairstyles
Give each head different hair: a swept fringe, round curls, a bun on top, short hair.
Tip Different hair makes each person look like somebody new.
Step 4: Shoulders
Under each head draw round shoulders with straight sides, down to one flat line along the bottom.
Tip The shoulders overlap a little: a crowd stands close together.
Step 5: Heads behind
Above each gap between 2 heads draw another egg head peeking out from behind. Draw 3.
Tip Only draw the part you can see: the bottom hides behind the front row.
Step 6: More faces
Give the 3 heads at the back dot eyes and wide smiles too.
Step 7: More hair
Draw hair on the back heads: a wavy fringe, little tufts, a swept fringe.
Step 8: Colour the faces
Colour the faces peach or brown, a mix of both.
Tip People come in many colours. Use the skin colours you like.
Step 9: Red and yellow shirts
Colour some shirts red and some yellow. The gaps under the back heads are shirts too.
Step 10: Blue shirts
Colour the shirts that are left blue, and the last gap too.
Step 11: Yellow and brown hair
Colour 2 people's hair yellow and 2 people's hair brown.
Step 12: Black hair
Colour the rest of the hair black. Go over your lines and your crowd is done.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a crowd, drawn by you.
