How to Draw Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw grilled cheese and tomato soup in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the mug.

Print

  1. Step 1: The mug

On the right draw a flat oval mug top. From each end, a line down to a flat bottom.

Tip You dunk the sandwich right into the mug.

  2. Step 2: The handle

On the right draw a C handle, starting below the rim and stopping lower down. Add a smaller C inside.

  3. Step 3: The soup

Inside the rim draw a second flat oval a finger inside it for the soup.

  4. Step 4: A dunked sandwich

Above the soup draw half a sandwich: a triangle, square corner top right, point dipping into the soup.

Tip Stop its lines at the soup, and add a thick strip along the cut edge.

  5. Step 5: Melted cheese

Down the middle of the strip draw a wavy cheese line to the soup, with 1 fat drip.

  6. Step 6: The plate

Lower than the mug, on the left, draw a big oval plate. Add a rim oval inside.

Tip The plate is about half as wide as the page.

  7. Step 7: The other half

On the plate draw the other half lying flat: a long thin triangle pointing left, with a strip underneath.

  8. Step 8: Cheese drips

Draw a wavy cheese line in its strip with 2 fat drips. Put 2 grill marks on the dunked half.

  9. Step 9: Steam and a band

Draw 2 wiggly steam lines from the soup. Add 2 bowed band lines round the mug, above the middle.

  10. Step 10: The table

Draw a long table line under the mug and plate, just touching their bottoms.

  11. Step 11: Yellow cheese, tan toast

Go over your lines, then colour the cheese and drips yellow and both toast tops tan.

  12. Step 12: Sky plate, red soup

Colour the plate and the mug band sky blue, and the soup red. Leave the mug white.

  13. Step 13: Brown crusts

Colour both bottom slice strips brown, around the cheese. Your soup and sandwich are ready!
