How to Draw a Greek Statue
Draw a Greek statue in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of the paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the robe and the stone block.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 round eyes halfway down the head, each with a black dot. Add a U nose and a smile.
Step 3: Hair and bun
Draw hair over the top from the left side to the right, curving back for the fringe. Add a bun.
Tip Sit a round bun on the very top, tucked behind the hair.
Step 4: Leaf crown
Draw a thin band across the forehead, side to side. Add 2 oval leaves on each side, leaning out.
Step 5: Neck and robe
From the chin draw 2 neck lines down to a long robe with short sleeves and a wavy hem.
Tip Both sides of the robe match, like a bell with sleeves.
Step 6: Arms and hands
From each sleeve draw an arm hanging down, narrower at the wrist, ending in a round mitten hand.
Tip Give each hand a little thumb bump pointing in.
Step 7: Belt and drape
Draw a wide belt across the waist. From each shoulder draw a fold line down to the belt's middle.
Step 8: Robe folds
From under the belt draw 3 long fold lines down the skirt, stopping just above the hem.
Step 9: Sandals
Under the hem draw 2 sandals peeking out, toes pointing out.
Step 10: The pedestal
Under the feet draw a flat slab, a narrower block, then a wider slab. Add a long ground line.
Tip A statue always stands on a block. This one has 3 parts.
Step 11: Sandy slabs
Colour the top slab and the bottom slab of the pedestal sandy yellow.
Step 12: Light grey stone
Colour the face, neck, arms, robe, leaves and middle block light grey like stone. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Darker grey hair
Colour the hair, bun, belt and sandals a darker grey. Go over your lines. Your Greek statue is done!
