13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a kids playing soccer in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two egg heads.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two egg heads

Draw 2 egg heads side by side, one on the left and one on the right.

Tip Leave a wide gap between them for the ball, and lots of room below.

  2. Step 2: Happy faces

On each face draw 2 oval eyes with black dots looking at the middle, and a smile.

Tip Leave a tiny white dot in each black dot for a shine.

  3. Step 3: Two hairstyles

Start at one side of each head and stop at the other: tufty hair, then smooth hair with bunches.

Tip The bunches are 2 round puffs, one beside each cheek.

  4. Step 4: Necks and jerseys

Draw 2 neck lines. Start at one, draw a jersey with short sleeves, and stop at the other.

  5. Step 5: Arms and hands

Start at each sleeve. Draw an arm down, round a mitten hand, back up, and stop at the sleeve.

Tip Bend each arm out a little at the elbow.

  6. Step 6: Shorts

Start at a jersey corner. Draw shorts down, up between the legs, and stop at the other corner.

Tip The shorts leg nearest the ball tilts towards it.

  7. Step 7: Standing legs

Start at each outside shorts leg. Draw down, across the ankle, and stop at the shorts. Add a sock line.

Tip Make each leg thinner at the knee and rounder at the calf.

  8. Step 8: Kicking legs

Start at each inside shorts leg. Draw a bent leg down. Stop at the shorts. Add a sock line.

Tip Bend the knee towards the ball: the top of the leg leans in, then the shin drops down.

  9. Step 9: Boots and ground

Start at each ankle. Draw a boot round and stop at the other side. Add a ground line.

Tip Standing boots point out. Kicking boots point at the ball.

  10. Step 10: The ball

Between the kicking boots draw a round ball. Add a 5-sided patch and 5 lines to edge patches.

Tip Sit the ball on the ground line, touching both toes.

  11. Step 11: Skin colours

Colour each child's face, neck, arms, hands and knees in their skin colour. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Red and yellow jerseys

Colour one jersey red and the other yellow.

  13. Step 13: Navy shorts, black boots

Colour the shorts navy and the hair, boots and ball patches black. Leave the socks white. Goal!
