How to Draw a Grater

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a grater in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the front.

Print

  1. Step 1: The front

In the middle of your paper draw a tall box, a little wider at the bottom than the top.

  2. Step 2: The side

From the top right corner draw a short line out, then a long line down to the bottom right corner.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Near the top draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each, leaving a white shine.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile, with a small flat oval cheek beside each end.

  5. Step 5: The top

Start at the top left corner and draw a flat lid across, ending on the top of the side.

  6. Step 6: The handle

Start on the lid near the left. Draw a thick upside-down U handle over to the right side.

  7. Step 7: Grating holes

Below the face draw rows of little flat ovals for holes, 4 then 3, like a brick wall.

  8. Step 8: More holes

Add 2 more rows of little ovals under them, the same way.

  9. Step 9: Table and shadow

Draw a flat oval shadow round the grater's bottom. From each end, draw a table line well out.

  10. Step 10: Pink cheeks

    Colour the 2 cheeks pink.

  11. Step 11: Grey front, slate holes

Colour the front and shadow grey around the face and holes, then the holes slate. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Slate side and handle

Colour the side, the lid and the handle slate grey.
