How to Draw a Gramophone

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a gramophone in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the wooden box.

Print

  1. Step 1: The wooden box

Low on your paper, left of the middle, draw a box with rounded corners, wider than it is tall.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

On the box draw 2 big egg eyes, an eye-width apart. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each end.

  4. Step 4: The record

Across the top edge draw a flat oval record. Rub out the line inside and add a small oval label.

  5. Step 5: The horn tube

Start on the record. Draw a tube that curves up and right like a swan neck, and stops high up.

  6. Step 6: The big horn

At the end of the tube draw a big horn that opens up and to the right, like a flower.

  7. Step 7: Horn opening and crank

Draw an oval in the horn's mouth. From the box side, bend a thick crank up to a black knob.

  8. Step 8: Box line and notes

Draw a line across the box just under the record. Add 3 music notes in the air around the horn.

  9. Step 9: The table

Under the box, draw a long straight table line from left to right.

  10. Step 10: Gold horn

Go over your lines. Colour the horn, its tube and the crank gold, and the horn's mouth orange.

  11. Step 11: Pink cheeks, brown box

Colour the cheeks pink, then the box brown around the record, eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Black record

Colour the record and the note heads black, leaving the label white. Your gramophone is ready to play!
