How to Draw the Golden Goose
Draw the golden goose in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: small round head.
Step 1: Small round head
Near the top left, draw a round head. Start and stop at the bottom, leaving a gap for the neck.
Tip Leave lots of room under it for the body and the nest.
Step 2: Flat bill
On the face, draw a flat bill pointing left, half a head long, with a round tip and mouth line.
Step 3: One big eye
In the middle of the head, draw a big round eye with a black dot and a white shine.
Tip Leave a strip of cheek between the bill and the eye.
Step 4: Curvy neck
From the 2 ends of the head, draw 2 lazy S neck lines down. Stop at the shoulders.
Tip Keep the neck smooth, and wider where it meets the body.
Step 5: Plump sitting body
From the neck, draw a fat bean body: along the back, round the bottom, and up to the neck.
Tip The body is wide and low, because the goose is sitting.
Step 6: Teardrop wing
On the back half of the body, draw a teardrop wing pointing at the tail. Add 2 short feather lines.
Step 7: Short pointed tail
At the back of the body, draw a short pointed tail sticking out and up, like a little wedge.
Step 8: Nest rim and bowl
Draw a flat oval rim round the goose, starting and stopping on the left. Add a U bowl under it.
Tip The front of the rim passes in front of her tummy; she sits inside.
Step 9: Twigs and ground
Draw 3 sagging twig lines across the bowl, side to side. Add a long ground line under the nest.
Step 10: Three golden eggs
Tuck 2 eggs behind the rim, by her chest and wing tip. Add 1 on the ground and 2 sparkles.
Step 11: Cream goose, sand wing
Colour the head, neck and body cream, and the wing and tail light sand. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Gold eggs, orange bill
Colour the eggs yellow and the bill orange.
Step 13: Wood brown nest
Colour the nest wood brown, around the goose and the eggs. Go over your lines. Your golden goose is done!
