How to Draw a Glider
Draw a glider in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
Across the middle, draw a long teardrop body flying right: a big round nose and a thin tail.
Step 2: Big eyes and smile
Near the nose, draw 2 big eyes. Start under the back eye and draw a smile to the front eye.
Step 3: Bubble window
Above the eyes, draw a long bubble window sitting on the top line. Add a little shine.
Step 4: The near wing
From the tummy, between the tail and the middle, draw a long straight wing down to the left and back.
Tip A glider's wings are much longer than its body.
Step 5: The far wing
Start on the top line, just behind the window. Draw the other long wing up to the right, then back.
Tip Keep both wings in one straight line.
Step 6: Tall tail fin
Start on the top line near the tail. Draw a tall fin, flat on top, down to the tail end.
Step 7: Little top wing
Across the top of the fin, draw a small thin wing that slopes like the big wing.
Step 8: One little wheel
Under the smile, draw 1 short leg hanging from the tummy, with a round wheel on the end.
Tip A glider only needs 1 wheel: it is so light.
Step 9: Yellow wings
Colour both long wings and the little top wing yellow.
Step 10: Blue window, grey wheel
Colour the bubble window sky blue. Colour the leg and the wheel grey.
Step 11: Teal body
Colour the body and the tail fin teal. Leave the eyes white.
