How to Draw a Space Telescope
Draw a space telescope in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tube.
Step 1: The tube
Across the middle draw a long fat tube tipped up to the right, with a flat end at each end.
Tip Tip it like a telescope looking up at the stars.
Step 2: Opening and end cap
On the top end draw an oval rim with a smaller opening inside. On the bottom draw an oval cap.
Step 3: A friendly face
On the tube below its middle draw 2 big round eyes with a dot and shine, a smile, 2 cheeks.
Step 4: A stripe band
Near the open end draw 2 curved lines close together, from one long side across to the other.
Step 5: Beams and solar wings
From the middle of each long side draw a short thick beam, with a big rectangle wing on the end.
Step 6: Wing squares
Draw a line along the middle of each wing and 2 lines across it, to split each wing into squares.
Step 7: A little dish
From the cap draw an arm out to a bowl dish with a flat rim, a spike and a ball.
Step 8: The star it watches
Where the tube points, up right of the opening, draw a big sparkle star. Add 2 small stars.
Step 9: White tube, yellow stars
Leave the tube and the eyes white. Colour the stars yellow.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, grey parts
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the beams, the end cap and the dish grey.
Step 11: Red band
Colour the stripe band red.
Step 12: Slate rim, navy wings
Colour the rim slate, then the solar wings and the opening navy. Go over your lines and you're done!
