How to Draw a Tractor
Draw a tractor in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: nose, hood and cab.
Step 1: Nose, hood and cab
Start low left. Go up round a boxy nose, along a long hood, over a tall cab. Stop halfway down.
Tip Leave lots of room under the cab for a giant wheel.
Step 2: Fender, belly and wheels
From the cab draw a rainbow fender, a flat belly, a small arch. Stop at the nose. Add 2 wheels.
Tip Both fender feet touch the giant back tyre. The front tyre hangs inside its arch.
Step 3: Big headlight eye
On the nose draw a big round headlight eye. Add a pupil, a little low and back, with a shine.
Tip Keep air all round the eye: it never touches the hood or the nose.
Step 4: Smile and cheek
Under the eye draw one short U smile curling up toward the nose. Add a small oval cheek behind it.
Tip One smooth short smile, no wiggles, all inside the nose.
Step 5: Windows and pillar
Start above the hood. Draw a big window inside the cab, back to the start. Add a pillar down it.
Tip Keep a strip of cab between the window and the outline all round.
Step 6: Exhaust stack
From the hood draw a tall trumpet stack up and back down to the hood. Add 3 puffs floating up.
Tip The stack is as tall as the cab. Each puff is a little bigger.
Step 7: Treads and hub dots
Draw 8 short lines in from the big tyre's edge, spaced like a clock. Put a dot in each hub.
Step 8: Road and shine
From the nose draw a straight road line under both tyres, stopping behind the big tyre. Add a windscreen shine.
Step 9: Grey stack, sky windows
Colour the stack and puffs grey, and the windows sky blue, leaving the shine white.
Step 10: Colour the tractor green
Colour the cheek pink. Colour the tractor and fender green around the cheek and windows. Leave the headlight white.
Step 11: Yellow hubs, grey tyres
Colour the hubs yellow, then both tyres dark grey around them.
