How to Draw a Dragster
Draw a dragster in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big helmet dome.
Step 1: Big helmet dome
Start in the middle, halfway down. Draw 1 big rainbow helmet to the right, stopping level with the start.
Tip Round like a ball, a quarter of the page wide. Leave the bottom open.
Step 2: Visor and face
From the left edge, draw 2 visor curves across the helmet, stopping at the right. Add eyes and a smile.
Step 3: Needle nose ramp
From the helmet's right side, draw a line under it and down a long ramp. Stop at a needle nose.
Tip The nose is long and pointy, like a needle.
Step 4: Floor and big arch
From the nose tip, draw the flat floor with a huge arch, then up the back to the helmet.
Step 5: Tiny and huge tyres
Draw a small tyre under the nose and a huge tyre in the big arch. Add hubs.
Tip The back tyre is almost twice as big as the front.
Step 6: Tall rear wing
On the tail, draw a tall fin leaning back, with a long plank and a little end plate on top.
Tip The wing stands tall, above the helmet, on its own fin.
Step 7: Number circle
Under the ramp, draw a circle with a big fat 1 inside.
Step 8: Exhaust and flame
On the back of the tail, draw a short stubby pipe. Add a teardrop flame trailing back from it.
Step 9: The road
Draw a long straight road under both tyres, from past the nose to past the flame.
Step 10: Yellow and orange flame
Colour the flame yellow with an orange middle.
Step 11: Green helmet, purple car
Colour the helmet green and the car, wing and pipe purple. Leave the visor, eyes and number white.
Step 12: Black tyres, grey hubs
Go over your lines. Colour the hubs grey, then the tyres black around them and the middle dot black.
