How to Draw a Glass of Water
Draw a glass of water in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the glass.
Step 1: The glass
Start on the left, above the middle. Go down, across and up the right side. Stop level with the start.
Step 2: The rim
Join the top ends with a flat oval for the rim, going all the way round.
Step 3: The water
A thumb below the rim draw a second flat oval inside the glass, from side to side.
Step 4: Ice cubes
On the water draw 2 small squares with soft corners, one a little higher than the other.
Step 5: A straw
Start on the water, at the right. Draw a straw leaning up past the rim and stop above the glass.
Step 6: Straw stripes
Draw 2 short lines across the straw below the bend and 2 above it.
Step 7: Bubbles
Inside the water draw 3 little round bubbles, none touching the glass.
Step 8: A shine
Draw a long thin oval down the left side of the glass, a finger inside the edge.
Step 9: A shadow
Draw a wide flat oval round the bottom of the glass for its shadow on the table.
Step 10: Blue water
Go over your lines, then colour the water sky blue, leaving the ice cubes, straw, bubbles and shine white.
Step 11: Red stripes, grey shadow
Colour the straw red between its stripes, and the shadow grey around the glass. Your glass of water is done!
