How to Draw a Coffee Cup
Draw a coffee cup in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
A little above the middle, draw a flat oval as wide as your palm.
Tip Look down into the mug a little.
Step 2: The mug
Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a tall U down and round, stopping at the right end.
Step 3: The coffee
Inside the rim, draw a second flat oval a finger inside it for the coffee.
Step 4: The handle
On the right, start below the rim. Draw a big C and stop near the bottom. Add a C inside.
Tip The handle is a fat C stuck on the side.
Step 5: Steam
Above the mug, draw 3 wiggly steam lines going up.
Tip Hot coffee!
Step 6: A saucer
Draw a flat oval saucer behind the mug, passing under its bottom.
Step 7: Band and heart
Draw a gentle smile curve round the mug under the rim. Draw a tiny heart in the coffee.
Step 8: A shine
Down the left side of the mug, draw a long thin sliver for a shine.
Step 9: Sky saucer
Go over your lines. Colour the saucer sky blue.
Step 10: Brown coffee
Colour the coffee brown, leaving the heart white.
Step 11: Red mug
Colour the mug, the band and the handle red, leaving the rim and the shine white.
