How to Draw a Girl in a Hoodie

Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw a big egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave room above and beside the head for the hood.

Step 2: The face

Below the middle draw 2 big eyes with black dots and a lash each. Add a U nose, smile, brows.

Step 3: Hair and fringe

Start on the head's left side. Draw hair over the top, then 3 soft bumps back for the fringe.

Step 4: The hood

Start under the chin. Draw a big round hood up and all around the head, back to the chin.

Tip Keep a finger of space between the hood and the hair all the way round.

Step 5: Long hair

From each cheek draw a lock of hair hanging down over the hood, ending in a soft point.

Tip Make both locks the same length.

Step 6: Sleeves and hands

Start at the hood. Draw each sleeve down to the wrist, round a mitten hand, and back up to the armpit.

Tip Bend each sleeve a little at the elbow. A short line at the wrist ends the sleeve.

Step 7: The hoodie body

Start at each armpit. Draw a side straight down to a round corner. Join the corners with a hem.

Tip Keep a little gap between the hands and the body.

Step 8: Pocket and strings

Start at the hood: hang 2 strings with oval tips. Add a hem line and a pocket stopping on it.

Tip The big front pocket and the strings show it is a hoodie.

Step 9: Trouser legs

Start at the hem. Draw 2 legs down, getting narrower, with an upside-down V between. Stop at the ankles.

Step 10: Shoes and ground

Draw a round shoe under each leg, toes out. Start a ground line left and stop it on the right.

Step 11: Yellow hair

Go over your lines. Colour the hair on top and the 2 long locks yellow.

Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour 2 pink cheeks, then the face around them and the hands peach. Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Red hoodie

Colour the hood, the sleeves and the body red, going around the long hair.

Step 14: Trousers and shoes

Colour the trousers blue and the shoes black. Your girl in a hoodie is done!
