How to Draw a Person
Draw a person in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of the paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 big eyes in the middle with dots and shines. Add a U nose, a smile and 2 eyebrows.
Step 3: Soft hair cap
Start on the head's left side. Draw round tufts over the top, stop on the right. Add a hairline curve.
Tip Round bumps like little clouds, not spikes.
Step 4: Neck and T-shirt
Draw 2 neck lines under the chin. From the left one, draw a short-sleeved T-shirt ending at the right one.
Step 5: Arms
From each sleeve hem draw 2 lines down to the wrist. The arm gets narrower at the wrist.
Tip Start the inside line a little out from the armpit, not in its corner.
Step 6: Mitten hands
From one side of each wrist draw a round mitten with a thumb pointing in. Stop at the other side.
Step 7: Trousers
Start at the left corner of the T-shirt. Draw 2 long trouser legs and stop at the right corner.
Tip The legs are long: they reach nearly to the bottom of the page.
Step 8: Shoes
Under each trouser leg draw a shoe, toe pointing out: a round heel, a flat sole, a longer round toe.
Step 9: Belt and ground
Draw a belt across the top of the trousers, left to right. Add a long ground line under the shoes.
Step 10: Peach skin
Colour the face, neck, arms and hands peach.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Red shirt, blue trousers
Colour the T-shirt red and the trousers blue.
Step 12: Brown hair, belt, shoes
Colour the hair, the belt and the shoes brown. Go over your lines and your person is done.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a person, drawn by you.
