How to Draw a Giant

Draw a giant in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room at the bottom right for a tiny house.
Step 2: Face and thick brows
Draw 2 eyes, a nose, a smile and 2 thick brows. Each C ear starts and ends on the head.
Step 3: Wild hair
Start above the left ear. Draw wild tufts over the head, stopping above the right ear. Add a curved hairline.
Step 4: Beard
From low on each cheek, draw a beard round under the chin, with a shallow top edge under the smile.
Step 5: Ragged tunic
From under the beard, draw a tunic down to a ragged hem, with one sleeve and a bare right shoulder.
Tip The top slants across the chest like a sash.
Step 6: Arms
Draw each arm down to its wrist with a soft elbow, from the left sleeve and the right shoulder.
Step 7: Mitten hands
Start on one arm line, draw a round mitten hand with a little thumb, and stop on the other.
Step 8: Legs
From the ragged hem, draw 2 legs down to the ankles, each with a soft knee and getting narrower.
Step 9: Bare feet and ground
From one leg, draw a foot with 3 toe bumps pointing out, round to the other. Add a ground line.
Step 10: A tiny house
By the right foot, draw a tiny house: a small square with a pointed roof and a little door.
Tip The tiny house shows how big the giant is!
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks, then the face, ears, arms, legs and feet peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Yellow house, red roof
Colour the tiny house yellow and its roof red.
Step 13: Green tunic, brown hair
Colour the tunic green, then the hair and beard brown. Go over your lines and you're done.
Tip Keep the eyes white.
