How to Draw a German Shepherd Face
Draw a German shepherd face in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall head.
Step 1: Tall head
Draw a big head shape: a soft dome on top, round cheeks, then slope in to a small chin.
Tip Leave room above for the ears and below for the muzzle.
Step 2: Tall pointed ears
On each top corner, draw a very tall pointed ear standing straight up. Add a smaller ear shape inside.
Tip German shepherd ears are huge: almost as tall as the head.
Step 3: Big eyes
A little above the middle, draw 2 big round eyes, an eye apart. Add black pupils with shines.
Step 4: Long muzzle
Under the eyes, draw a long U muzzle that hangs down past the chin.
Tip The long muzzle is what makes it a German shepherd.
Step 5: Nose and smile
Low on the muzzle, draw a wide black nose. Add a short line down and a little w smile.
Step 6: Little tongue
Hang a small U tongue from the middle of the smile.
Step 7: Crown lines
Start under each ear. Draw a line arching over the eye, then down between the eyes to the muzzle.
Tip Each line bends like a rainbow over its eye.
Step 8: Pink tongue, tan fur
Colour the tongue pink. Colour the cheeks, the fur round the eyes and the inner ears tan.
Tip Leave the eyes white. Leave the muzzle, the crown and the ears for later.
Step 9: Grey muzzle
Colour the long muzzle dark grey, around the black nose and the pink tongue.
Step 10: Black ears and crown
Go over your lines. Colour the ears and the crown between them black, down to the muzzle.
Tip Colour around the tan inside each ear. Your dog is done!
