How to Draw a Pangolin
Draw a pangolin in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pointy face.
Step 1: The pointy face
On the left of your paper draw a sideways teardrop. The round part is the head, the point the snout.
Tip Leave room on the right for the scaly back.
Step 2: Nose, smile and eye
Draw a black ball nose on the snout. Start under it, draw a smile, stop. Add a big eye.
Step 3: Crown and tiny ear
Start above the eye. Draw a rainbow curve up and back. Stop over the back. Add a tiny ear.
Step 4: Dome and tummy
Start at the rainbow's end. Curve over the back and under to the chin. Add a bumpy shell edge.
Step 5: Near legs
Start under the chin. Draw a leg down to a mitten paw and back up to the tummy. Do both.
Tip Short legs! The front leg sits right under the head.
Step 6: Far legs
Behind each leg, start on the tummy and draw a line down to a small flat paw on the ground.
Step 7: Toes and ground
Give each near paw 2 short toe lines. Draw one long ground line under all 4 paws, edge to edge.
Step 8: Rows of scales
Start on the head and draw a bumpy row over to the back edge. Draw 3, one above another.
Tip Scales overlap like roof tiles, so every row is bumpy.
Step 9: Long scaly tail
From the back edge, draw a long tail to the ground and up to the tummy. Add 3 bumpy rows.
Step 10: Pink cheek, white eye
Colour a pink blush under the eye. Leave the eye white.
Step 11: Sandy face, brown scales
Colour the face, ear, tummy and near legs sand, around the pink cheek. Colour the back and tail wood brown.
Step 12: Brown far legs
Colour the 2 far legs brown. Go over your lines and your pangolin is done!
