How to Draw a Box Jellyfish
Draw a box jellyfish in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bell.
Step 1: The bell
Start at the bottom left. Draw up, round the top corners and down, then 4 soft bumps back.
Tip The bell is a soft box, a little taller than wide, with no sharp corners on top.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the bell draw 2 big egg eyes with black dots and white shines.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Start under the left eye and draw a U smile across to the right eye. Add a cheek each side.
Step 4: The hem
Start on the left side just above the bumps. Draw a gently curved line across to the right side.
Step 5: Front tentacles
Under each bottom corner draw 3 long wavy lines hanging down close together, each ending in a hook.
Tip A box jellyfish has 4 corners, 2 in front and 2 at the back, each with its own bundle.
Step 6: Back tentacles
Beside each front bundle, nearer the middle, draw 2 shorter wavy lines peeking out from behind the bell.
Step 7: A glassy shine
High on the left of the bell draw one short curved line for a shine.
Step 8: Bubbles
Beside the top right of the bell draw 3 round bubbles floating up: small, bigger, biggest.
Step 9: Peach cheeks
Colour the 2 cheeks peach.
Step 10: Pale blue bell
Colour the bell above the hem pale blue, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Blue hem and bubbles
Colour the hem and the bubbles a darker blue. Go over your lines and your box jellyfish is done!
