How to Draw a Frog Swimming
Draw a frog swimming in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide head.
Step 1: Wide head
Near the top draw a wide rounded head, wider than tall, like a bread roll.
Step 2: Eyes on top
Draw 2 big circles on the top corners of the head, half off. Add a black dot in each.
Tip Leave a tiny white sparkle in each black dot. The eyes stay white.
Step 3: Smile and nostrils
Start under the left eye. Draw a big smile and stop under the right eye. Dot 2 nostrils above it.
Step 4: Egg body
Start under the left cheek. Draw a fat egg down, round a narrow bottom, and stop under the right cheek.
Step 5: Reaching arms
Start on each shoulder. Draw an arm out and forward to 3 round fingers. Stop on the body.
Step 6: Kicking legs
Start low on each side of the body. Draw a fat leg out, then straight back. Stop at the ankle.
Tip The legs are stretched right out behind, like the kick in a swimming stroke.
Step 7: Webbed feet
Start at each ankle. Draw a wide fan with 3 round toes and dips between. Stop at the ankle.
Step 8: Back spots
Draw 3 round spots on the frog's back, a big one, a middle one and a small one.
Step 9: Ripples and bubbles
Draw 2 short ripples beside each side of the frog. Draw 3 bubbles between the feet, big to small.
Step 10: Light green frog
Colour the whole frog light green, going around the 3 spots. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Dark green spots
Colour the 3 spots on the back dark green.
Step 12: Blue water
Go over your lines. Colour the water blue all around the frog, leaving the 3 bubbles white.
