How to Draw a Christmas Fairy

Step 1: Egg head

Near the top of your paper draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave room on both sides for the wings.

Step 2: Face and ears

Draw 2 oval eyes with black dots, a tiny nose and a smile. Add a pointed ear on each side.

Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.

Step 3: Hair

Start beside the left ear. Go up over the head to the right ear, then swoop back across the forehead.

Tip The two swoops meet in a point at the middle.

Step 4: Holly crown

On top of the hair draw 2 spiky holly leaves, with 3 round berries between them.

Tip Each leaf has 2 spikes along each side and a pointed tip.

Step 5: Long dress

Under the chin draw a long dress with short sleeves. Add a U collar and a line above the hem.

Tip The dress gets wider all the way down, like a party gown.

Step 6: Bent arms

From each sleeve draw an arm down to the elbow, then out and up to a mitten hand.

Tip Each arm bends like the letter L and gets thinner at the wrist.

Step 7: Wings

Behind each shoulder draw a big round wing down to the hand. Under each arm draw a smaller wing.

Step 8: Star wand

Start in the right hand. Draw a stick straight up and stop at a star with 5 points.

Step 9: Shoes and ground

Under the hem draw 2 round shoes peeking out. Draw a ground line under them.

Step 10: Snowflakes

Draw 3 little snowflakes in the air. Each one is 3 short lines crossing in the middle.

Step 11: Peach skin

Colour the face, ears, arms and hands peach. Add a pink cheek each side. Leave the eyes white.

Step 12: Yellow hair and star

Colour the hair yellow, around the holly crown. Colour the star yellow too.

Step 13: Blue and green

Colour the wings sky blue. Colour the 2 holly leaves and the 2 shoes green.

Step 14: Red dress

Colour the dress and the 3 berries red. Leave the collar and the hem band white.

Tip White trim on red looks like a cosy Christmas outfit.
