How to Draw a Garden Hose Reel
Draw a garden hose reel in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the reel disc.
Step 1: The reel disc
Right of the middle of your paper draw a big circle, with a small hub circle in the middle.
Tip A hose reel hangs on the wall, and the hose winds round its drum.
Step 2: Two eyes
Below the hub draw 2 small round eyes side by side. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a tiny U smile. Add a tiny oval cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 4: Wound hose
Inside the disc draw a thick band from low left, over the top, to low right. Add 2 curves inside.
Step 5: Crank handle
From the hub draw a long bar slanting up past the rim, with a round knob on its end.
Step 6: Wall post and bracket
Draw a tall post on the left, from top to ground. Join it to the disc with a short bar.
Step 7: The hose
Where the band ends on the right, keep its outside stripe going as the hose, curving down to the ground.
Tip Rub out the little end line where the hose leaves the band, so it is one long hose.
Step 8: Nozzle and drips
At the end of the hose draw a nozzle lying on the ground, pointing left, with 3 drops spraying out.
Step 9: Ground
Draw a ground line under everything from left to right.
Step 10: Blue drips, pink cheeks
Colour the drips sky blue and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Grey post, yellow nozzle
Colour the post and bracket grey, and the hub, crank, knob and nozzle yellow.
Step 12: Grey reel, green hose
Colour the hose green, then the disc dark grey around the hose, face, hub and crank. Leave the eyes white.
Tip Now your reel is ready to water the garden!
