How to Draw a Crop Top

Draw a crop top in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: collar and shoulders.

Step 1: Collar and shoulders
Draw a U neck hole with a rainbow on top. From each end slope a shoulder out and down.
Tip Make the shoulders wide, a hand long each.
Step 2: Short sleeves
From each shoulder end draw a short sleeve: down the outside, a slanted cuff, then back up to the armpit.
Tip Add a seam from each armpit up to the shoulder.
Step 3: A short body
From the left armpit draw a short side down, a hem across, and back up to the right armpit.
Tip Stop early! A crop top ends about level with the sleeves.
Step 4: Two big eyes
In the middle of the top draw 2 big egg eyes. Fill each with a black dot, leaving a shine.
Step 5: Smile and cheeks
Start under the left eye and draw a wide U smile to under the right eye. Add 2 flat cheeks.
Tip Keep the cheeks clear of the eyes and the smile.
Step 6: Cuff bands
On each sleeve draw a second line a finger in from the cuff, from the outside to the underside.
Step 7: Collar band
Inside the neck hole draw a shallow U, from one side of the hole across to the other.
Step 8: The hanger
Start on the middle of the rainbow. Draw a line up, curl a hook over and stop on the left.
Step 9: The rail
Start near the left edge, level with the hook's tip. Draw a straight line across to the right edge.
Tip The rail goes behind the hook, so the top hangs from it.
Step 10: Yellow bands, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the collar band and both cuff bands yellow. Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Purple crop top
Colour the top purple, around the face and the bands. Leave the eyes white. Your crop top is done!
Tip Colour inside the collar too: that is the back of the top.
