How to Draw a Garden Eel
Draw a garden eel in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: sand line.
Step 1: Sand line
Near the bottom of your paper, draw a wavy sand line from edge to edge.
Step 2: The tallest eel
From the sand in the middle, draw a thin eel hooking over into a head, then back to the sand.
Tip Point the snout to the right and keep the body slim.
Step 3: Its face
On the head, draw a round eye with a black dot and a shine. Add a smile under the snout.
Step 4: 2 more eels
On each side, from the sand, draw a shorter eel with its head the same way. Stop on the sand.
Step 5: Their faces
Give each new eel a round eye with a black dot and a shine, and a little smile.
Step 6: 2 edge eels
Near each edge, from the sand, draw one more eel with its head the same way. Stop on the sand.
Step 7: 2 more faces
Give these 2 eels a round eye with a black dot and a shine, and a little smile.
Step 8: Spots
On the 3 middle eels, draw 2 little round spots down each body.
Step 9: Bubbles
At the top right, draw 2 round bubbles going up, the top one bigger.
Step 10: Cream eels
Colour all 5 eels cream, around the spots. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Sandy floor
Colour the floor under the sand line sandy, right to the edges.
Step 12: Blue bubbles
Colour the 2 bubbles light blue.
Step 13: Orange spots
Colour the spots orange. Go over your lines. Your garden eels are done!
