How to Draw a Garbage Man

Draw a garbage man in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 eyes, a nose and a smile. Start a C ear on each side, ending on the head.
Step 3: Baseball cap
Draw a round cap with a wide curved peak over the forehead. Add a button and 2 seams.
Step 4: Neck and shirt
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a shirt with round shoulders, up to the right one.
Step 5: Safety vest
Over the shirt draw a vest from the neck down to the hem, with a V neck. Add 2 stripes.
Step 6: Long sleeves
From each shoulder draw a long sleeve down to the wrist, narrower at the bottom. Add a cuff line.
Tip Rub out the shirt lines inside the sleeves.
Step 7: Gloves
Under each arm draw a glove: round at the bottom like an egg, with a little thumb bump pointing in.
Step 8: Rubbish bag
Under the left glove draw a round knot. From it draw a big lumpy sack resting on the ground.
Step 9: Wheelie bin
Under the right glove draw a bin, lid and wheel. Add a handle starting and ending on its back.
Step 10: Trousers, shoes, ground
From the shirt hem draw 2 trouser legs down to 2 shoes. Add a ground line under everything.
Step 11: Peach skin, white gloves
Colour the face, ears and neck peach, with pink cheeks. Keep the eyes white. Leave the gloves white.
Step 12: Yellow vest, green bin
Colour the vest yellow, leaving the band between its 2 lines white. Colour the cap and bin green.
Step 13: Grey, navy and black
Colour the bag and wheel dark grey, the shirt and trousers navy around the vest, then the shoes black.
