How to Draw a Garage

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a garage in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flat roof.

Print

  1. Step 1: The flat roof

Above the middle, draw a long thin box for the flat roof, a hand and a half wide.

  2. Step 2: The walls

Start under the roof at the left. Draw a wall down, across the bottom, and back up to the roof.

  3. Step 3: The big door

Draw a big wide door standing on the bottom line, nearly as wide as the wall.

Tip A garage door is huge: a car has to fit through it.

  4. Step 4: Door slats

Draw 3 lines straight across the door, evenly spaced. Add a small flat handle near the bottom.

  5. Step 5: A window

Between the roof and the door, draw a short wide box window with a plus sign inside.

  6. Step 6: Two wall lamps

On the wall each side of the door, draw a little lamp, a small box with a flat hat on top.

  7. Step 7: The driveway

From each bottom corner of the door draw a short line sloping down and out. Join their ends.

  8. Step 8: A basketball hoop

High on the right draw a backboard, hoop and net. Start a pole under the net, stop at the ground.

  9. Step 9: A smiling sun

Top left, draw a small smiling sun, a circle with 8 rays, 2 dot eyes and a smile.

  10. Step 10: Ground and ball

Draw the ground line from each wall corner out to the edge. On the left draw a basketball.

  11. Step 11: Cream walls, yellow sun

Colour the walls cream around the door, window and lamps. Colour the sun and lamp boxes yellow.

  12. Step 12: Orange ball, sky window

Colour the ball and hoop orange, and the window sky blue. Leave the backboard white.

  13. Step 13: Grey door, slate roof

Colour the door and driveway grey, and the roof and lamp tops slate. Go over your lines, and you're done!
