How to Draw a Cabin
Draw a cabin in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the roof.
Step 1: The roof
Near the top of your paper, draw a wide pointy roof with a small rounded tip at each bottom corner.
Tip A cabin roof is lower and wider than a cottage roof.
Step 2: The walls
Start under the roof near the left end. Draw a wall down, across the bottom, and up to the roof.
Step 3: The door
In the middle of the wall, draw a door with a rainbow top. Add a round knob on the right.
Step 4: The ground
From each bottom corner, draw a ground line out to the paper's edge. Add a grass tuft on the right.
Step 5: Two windows
Beside the door on each side, draw a square window with a plus sign, and a skinny shutter outside it.
Step 6: The logs
Draw 4 evenly spaced log lines across the wall, from side to side. Skip over the door and windows.
Step 7: Log ends
At each end of each log, just outside the wall, draw a little circle for the round log end.
Step 8: The chimney
On the right roof slope, draw a chimney standing up, with a wider flat cap on top.
Step 9: Smoke puffs
On the chimney cap, draw a round smoke puff. Add 2 bigger puffs floating up, one left and one right.
Step 10: A pine tree
Left of the cabin, draw a little pine tree: a short trunk and 3 zigzag layers up to a point.
Step 11: Green tree, grey chimney
Colour the pine tree green and the chimney grey.
Step 12: Sky windows, red door
Colour the windows sky blue and the door and shutters red.
Step 13: Wooden logs, brown roof
Colour the walls and log ends wood brown around the door and windows, and the roof brown.
Tip Go over your lines!
