How to Draw a Gallimimus

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a gallimimus in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long snout head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Long snout head

Near the top left, draw a small egg lying on its side. Stretch the left end into a long snout.

Tip The snout is as long as the round part of the head.

  2. Step 2: Smile and nostril

Start near the snout tip. Draw a long smile line back under the snout. Add a tiny nostril dot.

  3. Step 3: One big eye

Behind the snout, draw a big round eye in the middle of the head. Add a black dot and shine.

  4. Step 4: Long thin neck

From the chin and back of the head, draw 2 long lines curving down right. Stop where the body goes.

Tip Thin like a hose, a bit wider at the bottom.

  5. Step 5: Body and tail

Start at the back neck line. Draw a round body and long pointy tail. Stop at the front neck line.

Tip The tail is as long as the body.

  6. Step 6: Tummy line

Start on the chest. Draw a soft curve along the body. Stop under the tail.

  7. Step 7: Little arm

On the chest, draw a short arm that bends at the elbow. Add 3 round fingers at the end.

  8. Step 8: One long leg

On the body, draw an egg for the thigh. Draw a slim leg down from it with 3 toes.

Tip Fat at the top, thin at the ankle.

  9. Step 9: Other leg

Behind the first leg, draw the second leg down from the tummy. Make it slim, with 3 toes.

  10. Step 10: Ground and grass

Start at the left edge. Draw a ground line under the feet to the right edge. Add 2 grass tufts.

  11. Step 11: Cream tummy

Colour the tummy cream, under the tummy line. Leave the leg white for now.

  12. Step 12: Tan all over

Colour the rest tan, going around the tummy. Leave the eye white. Go over your lines.
