How to Draw a Galaxy
Draw a galaxy in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: bright middle.
Step 1: Bright middle
In the middle of the paper draw a plump round blob, as big as a clementine.
Step 2: Big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes below the middle of the blob. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: The top arm
Start on the blob's right side. Sweep a fat arm over the top to a thin tip on the left.
Tip Fat where it leaves the blob, thin at the tip, like a comet tail.
Step 4: The bottom arm
Start on the blob's left side. Sweep a fat arm under the bottom to a thin tip on the right.
Tip The 2 arms make a big S: that is the spiral.
Step 5: A happy smile
Start a little below the left eye. Draw a small U smile and stop a little below the right eye.
Tip Keep a gap between the smile and the eyes.
Step 6: Twinkles
Around the galaxy draw 3 fat twinkles with 4 points each: one big, one medium and one small.
Step 7: Stars in the arms
Draw 2 little round stars along each arm, like beads: a bigger one, then a smaller one.
Step 8: Yellow middle
Colour the middle yellow, right up to the arms. Leave the eyes white.
Step 9: Yellow stars
Colour all the twinkles and the little stars yellow.
Step 10: Purple arms
Go over your lines. Colour both arms purple around the little stars. Add 2 pink cheeks.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a galaxy, drawn by you.
