How to Draw a Supernova
Draw a supernova in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big star.
Step 1: The big star
In the middle of your paper, draw a big 5-point star, about as wide as your hand.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the star, draw 2 big egg eyes close together. Add black dots and white shines.
Step 3: A big smile
Start under the left eye and draw a U smile across to under the right eye, ends turning up.
Step 4: Rosy cheeks
Beside each end of the smile, draw a small sideways oval cheek, with a little gap.
Step 5: Zigzag burst
Start above the star's top point and zigzag all round it: 10 points, a long one past each star point.
Tip Keep a gap between the zigzag and the star, so there is room to colour.
Step 6: Long back points
In each dip between the points, draw a longer point poking out. Start and stop on the zigzag.
Step 7: Flying stars
Out past the points, draw 4 little stars flying away, one near each corner of your paper.
Step 8: Yellow stars
Colour the big star and the 4 little stars yellow, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Colour the 2 cheeks rosy pink.
Step 10: Orange burst
Colour the zigzag burst orange, around the star.
Step 11: Red points
Colour the long back points red. Your supernova has gone BOOM!
