How to Draw Frog Spawn
Draw frog spawn in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: first eggs.
Step 1: First eggs
Draw 6 round eggs like grapes in the middle: 1 in the centre and 5 around it, overlapping a little.
Tip Where eggs overlap, lift your pencil so the front egg stays whole.
Step 2: More eggs
Add 6 more eggs tucked round the outside, so the clump looks lumpy and uneven, not round.
Step 3: Hatched tadpole
On the right draw a tadpole with a big eye, a small smile and a wavy tail from its back.
Step 4: Dot in each egg
Colour a small black dot in the middle of every egg. Each dot is a baby tadpole curled up inside.
Step 5: Pond weed
From the bottom edge draw a tall wavy weed each side, thinning to a point. Add a short one bottom-left.
Step 6: Water surface
Near the top draw a wavy line from edge to edge for the water, with 2 tiny bubbles under it.
Step 7: Pale jelly
Go over your lines, then colour every egg a very pale cream so they look like clear jelly.
Step 8: Blue pond
Colour the water under the wavy line light blue, around the eggs, tadpole and weeds.
Step 9: Green tadpole
Colour a pink cheek, then the tadpole green around it. Leave its eye white.
Step 10: Green weeds
Colour the 3 pond weeds green. Your frog spawn is done!
