How to Draw a Superhero Dinosaur

Step 1: The big head

At the top left, draw a long head. Start at the back, go round the snout, stop under the jaw.

Tip Leave the back of the head open, the neck grows out of it.

Step 2: Hero mask

Across the top of the head draw a long mask band with a round front. Inside, draw a big eye.

Tip Add a black dot and a shine in the eye, and dot a nostril on the snout.

Step 3: Back and tail

Start behind the head. Draw down the back and along a thick tail. Come back under it and stop.

Tip The tail is fat at the body and thin at the tip.

Step 4: Round chest

Start under the jaw. Draw a big C for the chest. Stop where it curls under the tummy.

Step 5: Collar and cape

Draw a collar band round the neck. From behind the head, sweep a big cape back with 4 pointed tips.

Tip The cape is tied round the neck and blows out behind.

Step 6: Grin and teeth

From the front of the snout draw a long smile. Sag a curve under it and zigzag 5 teeth.

Step 7: Tiny arm

On the chest draw a tiny arm reaching forward. Give it 2 little fingers.

Tip Rub out the bit of chest line inside the arm.

Step 8: Big leg

From the end of the chest, draw a big round thigh and a short leg with 3 toes.

Tip The foot is flat on the bottom with 3 toe bumps at the front.

Step 9: Back leg, ground

Behind the big thigh draw a back leg down to its toes and up to the tail. Add the ground.

Step 10: Tummy patch

Start on the chest under the jaw. Draw a rainbow curve over the arm and stop on the thigh.

Step 11: Cream tummy, pink mouth

Go over your lines. Colour the tummy patch cream and inside the mouth pink. Leave the teeth white.

Step 12: Green dinosaur

Colour the head, body, arm, legs and tail green, around the tummy and mask. Leave the eye white.

Step 13: Blue mask, red cape

Colour the mask blue around the eye. Colour the collar and cape red. Your superhero dinosaur is ready!
