How to Draw a Frog on a Rock
Draw a frog on a rock in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and body.
Step 1: Head and body
Draw a big bean: a round nose on the left, a humped back, a low rump on the right.
Tip The left end is the head, so keep it fat and round.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On top of the head draw a big circle with a black dot. Peek a second eye behind it.
Tip Frog eyes sit right on top of the head.
Step 3: Smile and nostril
Start at the tip of the nose. Draw a long smile, stopping under the big eye. Dot a nostril.
Step 4: Front leg
Start under the smile. Draw a leg down to 3 round toes, then back up into the body.
Tip The leg bends a little, like an elbow.
Step 5: Folded back leg
On the back half of the body draw a big egg lying down, for the folded leg.
Tip The fat end of the egg sits at the back.
Step 6: Long webbed foot
Start under the egg. Draw a long flat foot forward, with 3 round toes, and back under the egg.
Tip Frog feet are long, longer than the hands.
Step 7: Other front leg
Behind the first front leg draw the other one, peeking out in front with 3 toes.
Step 8: Tummy line
Start at the end of the smile. Draw a curve down to the folded leg, stopping at its knee.
Step 9: Three spots
Draw 2 round spots on the folded leg and 1 on the back, a big one and little ones.
Step 10: Round rock
Start low on the left. Draw a big rock up, flat under the frog, and stop low on the right.
Tip The frog's toes rest on the rock, not in the air.
Step 11: Water
Draw a water line from the left edge, under the rock, to the right edge. Add 2 ripples below.
Step 12: Cream and green
Go over your lines. Colour the chin and tummy cream, the frog light green. Leave the eyes and spots white.
Step 13: Spots and rock
Colour the 3 spots darker green. Colour the rock grey, around the frog's toes.
Step 14: Blue water
Colour the water blue under the line, right down to the bottom of the page. Your frog is done!
