How to Draw Fried Rice
Draw fried rice in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
A little below the middle of your paper, draw a wide flat oval about a hand across.
Step 2: The bowl
Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a big U down and up to the right end.
Step 3: The foot
Under the bowl, draw a short stand: start on the bottom, go down, across, and up to the bottom.
Step 4: A stripe
Under the rim, draw a bowed stripe across the bowl, from the left side to the right side.
Step 5: A heap of rice
Draw a bumpy heap from the rim's left end over to its right end. Rub out the rim inside it.
Tip Lots of little bumps: it is a heap of rice grains.
Step 6: Peas and carrots
On the heap, draw 4 little round peas spread about, and 3 tiny tilted squares for carrot cubes.
Step 7: Bits of egg
Draw 3 small wobbly blobs on the heap for bits of scrambled egg.
Step 8: A spoon
On the right, draw a spoon standing in the rice: a long handle leaning up, an oval bowl below.
Step 9: Steam
Start a little above the heap and draw 2 wiggly steam lines going up.
Step 10: The table
Draw a long line under the foot, just touching its bottom.
Step 11: Cream rice, grey spoon
Go over your lines, then colour the rice cream around the peas, carrots and egg, and the spoon grey.
Step 12: Yellow egg, orange carrot
Colour the egg bits yellow and the carrot cubes orange.
Step 13: Green peas, teal band
Colour the peas green and the band under the rim teal. Leave the rest of the bowl white.
