How to Draw Salt and Pepper Shakers
Draw salt and pepper shakers in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tall salt glass.
Step 1: The tall salt glass
On the left, draw a tall glass with straight sides, a flat top and a round bottom.
Tip The salt shaker is the tall one, so its top sits high up.
Step 2: The salt cap
On the flat top of the salt glass draw a domed cap, like a round hill.
Step 3: The fat pepper glass
On the right, draw a short fat glass with a lower flat top, bulging out and round at the bottom.
Tip The pepper shaker is short and fat, and both bottoms line up.
Step 4: The pepper cap
On the flat top of the pepper glass draw a wider domed cap, like a round hill.
Step 5: Holes and cap lines
Draw 5 little holes on the salt cap, 3 bigger ones on the pepper cap. Add a line across each.
Step 6: The levels
Below each cap draw a gentle curve across the glass, side to side, to show how full it is.
Step 7: S and P
On the salt glass draw a big S, and on the pepper glass draw a big P.
Step 8: Pepper dots
In the pepper glass, below the curve, draw 7 little peppercorn dots around the P.
Step 9: The table
Start well left of the salt shaker. Draw a table line under both shakers, stopping well right.
Step 10: Sky glass, tan pepper
Go over your lines. Colour the top of each glass sky blue, the pepper tan, and leave the salt white.
Step 11: Grey caps
Colour both caps grey, all the way down to the glass.
Step 12: Black peppercorns
Colour the peppercorn dots black, and your salt and pepper shakers are done!
