How to Draw French Toast
Draw French toast in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
In the middle draw a big oval plate, wider than tall. Add a second oval just inside for the rim.
Step 2: The front slice
On the plate, up and left, draw a bread slice: a wide square with a round top.
Tip Let the round top bulge out a little past the sides, like real bread.
Step 3: The back slice
Start on the front slice's top. Draw a second slice peeking out up and right, stop on its side.
Tip Only the top and the right side of the back slice show.
Step 4: Thick edges
Under each slice draw its thick side: a short line down from each lower corner, joined along the bottom.
Step 5: Crust lines
Inside each slice draw a line all the way round, a finger in from the edge, for the crust.
Step 6: A pat of butter
In the middle of the front slice draw a butter pat: a tilted diamond with 2 short sides under it.
Step 7: A drip
Start at the bottom of the butter. Draw one little U drip down the slice, stop before the crust.
Step 8: Berries
On the plate below the back slice draw 3 small round berries in a loose bunch, not touching.
Step 9: Steam and table
Just above the plate's back edge draw 2 short wavy steam lines. Add a long table line under the plate.
Step 10: Butter and toast
Go over your lines. Colour the butter yellow and the middle of each slice tan, around the butter and drip.
Step 11: Crust and drip
Colour the crust bands and the thick edges ginger, and the drip brown.
Step 12: Berries and plate
Colour the berries red. Colour the plate sky blue around the toast and berries. Your French toast is done!
