How to Draw Bongo Drums
Draw bongo drums in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big drum top.
Step 1: The big drum top
Right of the middle, a little high, draw one wide oval for the top of the big bongo.
Tip Bongos come as a pair: a big one and a little one joined together.
Step 2: The big drum body
From each end of the oval draw a line down, leaning in. Stop low and join with a smile.
Step 3: Big drum eyes
On the big bongo draw 2 egg eyes. Colour a black dot in the middle of each, leaving a shine.
Step 4: The little drum top
Left of the big drum and a little lower, draw a smaller wide oval for the little bongo's top.
Step 5: The little drum body
Do the same for the little bongo: 2 lines from its oval down to the same height, then a smile.
Step 6: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile, and a small oval cheek on each side.
Step 7: The bridge
Between the 2 drums draw a short box joining them, a little below the tops. It holds the pair together.
Step 8: Hoop rings
On each drum, just under the top oval, draw a smile curve from side to side for the metal hoop.
Step 9: Metal bars
Start on each hoop near the outer side. Draw a short bar down, ending in a little block.
Step 10: Ground and notes
Draw a long ground line under both drums, starting left and stopping right. Add a music note on each side.
Step 11: Cream tops, grey hoops
Colour both drum tops cream, then the hoops and bars grey.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, blue notes
Colour the cheeks pink and the music notes blue.
Step 13: Wooden drums
Colour the bodies wood brown around the face and metal, and the bridge brown. Leave the eyes white. Bongo time!
