How to Draw a Bed

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a bed in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: headboard.

Print

  1. Step 1: Headboard

On the left, draw 2 tall thin posts with a small ball on top. Join them with a curved board.

Tip Make it tall: its top is near the top of the paper.

  2. Step 2: Footboard

Far over on the right, draw the same shape only half as tall, with a small ball on each post.

  3. Step 3: Mattress and rail

A hand above the floor, draw a thick mattress from headboard to footboard. Add a slim rail under it.

  4. Step 4: Puffy pillow

On the mattress by the headboard, draw a puffy pillow with a bumpy top and a round end.

  5. Step 5: Teddy's head

On the pillow, draw a big round head with 2 round ears on top. Add 2 eyes with black dots.

Tip The teddy is the star: big head, big round ears.

  6. Step 6: The blanket

Start under the chin. Draw the blanket over to the footboard, down a wavy hem, and back to the start.

Tip Add a fold line near the top, from headboard to footboard. Rub out the mattress lines under the blanket.

  7. Step 7: Teddy's face

Under the eyes, draw an oval nose patch. Add a black nose and a little smile inside it.

  8. Step 8: Paws on the blanket

Under each cheek, draw a round paw up from the blanket and back down. Give each 2 toe lines.

  9. Step 9: Blanket dots

Draw 4 round dots spread over the blanket, below the fold line.

  10. Step 10: The floor

Draw a long floor line under the bed, from past the headboard to past the footboard.

  11. Step 11: Tan teddy, cream sheets

Colour the pillow, nose patch and blanket top cream. Colour the teddy tan around the patch. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Wood frame, yellow knobs

Colour the 4 little knobs yellow. Colour the posts and both boards wood brown.

  13. Step 13: Red dots, blue blanket

Colour the dots red. Colour the blanket blue around the dots.
