11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a four square ball in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the ball.

Print

  1. Step 1: The ball

In the upper middle of your paper draw a big round ball, as big as a grapefruit.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

On the ball draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Add a black dot in each with a shine.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small flat cheek beside each eye.

  4. Step 4: The chalk court

Behind the bottom of the ball draw a squashed square court, narrow at the back and wide at the front.

Tip The ball hides the middle of the back edge, so stop that line at the ball.

  5. Step 5: The shadow

Where the ball sits on the court draw a flat oval shadow, peeking out each side of the ball.

  6. Step 6: Middle line

Draw a line from the bottom of the shadow straight down to the middle of the front edge.

  7. Step 7: Four squares

Draw a line across the middle of the court from side to side to make 4 squares.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw 4 little 4-point sparkles in the air around the ball, not touching it.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles

Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.

  10. Step 10: Grey court

Colour the court light grey up to the ball and the shadow.

  11. Step 11: Red ball, dark shadow

Colour the ball red around the eyes and cheeks, and the shadow dark grey around it. Leave the eyes white.
