How to Draw a Food Truck

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a food truck in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: loaf top.

Print

  1. Step 1: Loaf top

Start low on the left. Go up the front, round a corner, along the roof, and finish down the back.

Tip Like an upside-down U, twice as long as it is tall.

  2. Step 2: Floor with wheel bumps

Start at the bottom of the front. Draw the floor across, over 2 big rainbow bumps, stopping at the back.

Tip The bumps are big: each nearly a quarter of the truck long.

  3. Step 3: Eye, smile and bumper

Draw a big eye on the front. Start a smile in from the edge, stop under it. Add a bumper.

  4. Step 4: Two fat tyres

Under each bump draw a big circle tyre, a little smaller than the bump, leaving a thin gap on top.

Tip Both tyres are the same size and sit level, below the floor.

  5. Step 5: The big windscreen

A finger inside the front wall draw a big window that follows the round corner, with a straight back edge.

  6. Step 6: Window, awning and hatch

Behind the windscreen draw a window just as tall. Further back draw a bumpy awning, then a hatch under it.

  7. Step 7: The V stripe

Start at the back wall. Draw a line past the hatch, dip into a soft V, stop at the front.

  8. Step 8: Door and tail light

From the stripe draw 2 door lines down to the floor between the bumps. Add a handle and tail light.

  9. Step 9: Counter and burger

Add a counter under the hatch. From the roof stack a bun, a patty, and finish with a top bun.

  10. Step 10: Hubcaps and road

Draw a hubcap circle in each tyre. Start before the truck and draw a straight road, stopping behind it.

  11. Step 11: Cream top, blue glass

Go over your lines. Colour the top cream around the awning, and the windows and hatch sky blue.

Tip Leave a white shine on the big window.

  12. Step 12: Tan buns, orange bottom

Colour the buns tan. Colour the bottom orange around the hatch and tail light, leaving the eye white.

Tip Leave the seed dots, bumper, handle and counter white too.

  13. Step 13: Awning, patty and tyres

Colour the awning and tail light green, the patty brown, and the tyres black with white hubcaps.
