How to Draw a Food Cart

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a food cart in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the box.

Print

  1. Step 1: The box

Just below the middle draw a long low box with soft corners, a little wider at the top.

Tip The box is nearly 3 times as wide as it is tall.

  2. Step 2: The rim

Start on the front wall under the top. Draw 1 line across, stopping on the back wall, for the rim.

  3. Step 3: The handle

Start halfway down the left wall. Draw a thin handle slanting up and out, with a bar on its end.

Tip Leave a wide gap between the handle and the box wall.

  4. Step 4: The umbrella pole

From the middle of the box top draw a short thin pole up. Stop nearly as tall as the box.

  5. Step 5: The umbrella

Start left of the box. Draw a bumpy dome with 2 stripes and a knob, ending right of the box.

Tip The pole meets the middle of the bumpy edge. Each stripe runs from the knob to a dip.

  6. Step 6: The sign

Under the rim, in the middle of the box, draw a wide sign with square corners.

  7. Step 7: A hot dog

Inside the sign draw a bun like a boat. Draw a long sausage lying in it, poking out both ends.

  8. Step 8: Two fat wheels

Under the box draw 2 big round wheels, 1 near each end, hanging a little below. Small circle in each.

Tip Both wheels hang down the same amount.

  9. Step 9: Wheel holders

Each side of each wheel, start on the box bottom and draw a short line slanting down into the wheel.

  10. Step 10: The ground

Start left of the box. Draw 1 long line right, touching both wheel bottoms, and stop past the box.

  11. Step 11: Yellow umbrella, tan bun

Colour the umbrella yellow, with a wavy yellow mustard line on the sausage. Colour the bun tan.

  12. Step 12: Red box and sausage

Colour the sausage red around the mustard. Colour the box red, around the white sign.

  13. Step 13: Brown, grey, black

Colour the rim wood brown. Colour the pole, knob, handle, holders and hubs grey, then wheels black around them.
