How to Draw a Food Pyramid
Draw a food pyramid in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a big triangle.
Step 1: A big triangle
Draw a big triangle filling most of your paper: a point at the top and a flat bottom.
Step 2: 3 layers
Draw 2 lines across to make 3 layers. Start each on the left slope and stop on the right slope.
Tip The top layer is small, the bottom layer is big: that is the idea!
Step 3: Bread at the bottom
In the bottom left draw a slice of bread with 2 bumps on top. Add a crust line inside.
Step 4: A carrot
Next to the bread draw a pointy carrot slanting down to the left, with 3 leaves at the top.
Step 5: A cheese wedge
Bottom right, draw a cheese triangle, point up, with a side bite, a big hole and a tiny hole.
Step 6: An apple
In the middle layer, on the left, draw a round apple with a stem and a leaf.
Step 7: A banana
Next to the apple draw a banana: a fat curve, pointy at both ends, with a line along it.
Step 8: A candy on top
In the little top layer draw a small oval candy with a pinched wrapper twist on each side.
Step 9: The ground
Draw a ground line under the triangle from far left to far right, just touching its bottom.
Step 10: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines, then colour the banana and the cheese yellow, and the candy and its wrapper pink.
Step 11: Tan and orange
Colour the whole bread slice tan, and the carrot orange.
Step 12: Green and red
Colour the carrot leaves and the apple leaf green, and the apple red.
Step 13: Blue layers
Colour the 3 layers sky blue, around all the foods, and your food pyramid is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a food pyramid, drawn by you.
