How to Draw a Folklorico Dancer
Draw a folklorico dancer in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave lots of room below and on both sides for a very wide skirt.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle of the head draw 2 oval eyes with a black dot. Add a nose and smile.
Step 3: Smooth hair
Draw hair over the top of the head from side to side, with a round line across the forehead.
Step 4: Three flowers
On top of the hair draw 3 flowers in a row, the middle one bigger. Add a dot in each.
Step 5: Ruffle collar
Draw 2 neck lines. Start at one, draw a wide collar with 5 bumps underneath, stop at the other.
Step 6: The top
Under the collar draw the top: 2 sides slanting in to a flat waist line.
Step 7: Arms and fists
From each collar end draw 2 arm lines out, bending up at the elbow. Stop at a round fist.
Tip Make each arm a little thinner at the wrist.
Step 8: Big skirt
Start under one fist. Draw a big wavy hem down, round and up. Stop under the other fist.
Tip She holds the skirt up like a fan, so it fills the space under her arms.
Step 9: Two ribbons
Inside the skirt draw 2 more wavy lines that follow the hem. Start and stop under the arms.
Step 10: Feet and ground
From the hem draw 2 short lines for each leg. Stop at the ankle. Add 2 shoes and the ground.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck, arms, fists and ankles peach, with 2 pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Yellow and red
Colour the collar, the middle ribbon and the flower dots yellow. Colour the flowers, top and skirt red.
Step 13: Green ribbon, black hair
Colour the ribbon along the hem green. Colour the hair and shoes black. Your dancer is done!
