Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big blocky head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big blocky head

Near the top, draw a big blocky head with a flat top and wide cheeks.

Tip The head is almost half of the whole dog.

  2. Step 2: Pointy ears

Start on the head near the top left. Draw a small pointy ear standing up, back to the head. Repeat.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Just above the middle of the head, draw 2 eggy eyes with black dots and white shines.

  4. Step 4: Square muzzle

Under the eyes, draw a wide square muzzle with 2 droopy jowls. Add a black triangle nose on top.

  5. Step 5: Mouth and tongue

From the nose point, draw a short line down to where the jowls meet. Hang a small U tongue.

  6. Step 6: The body

Start low on each side of the head. Draw a big C down to near the bottom. Join the ends.

  7. Step 7: Collar and tag

Under the chin, draw 2 sagging curves from the left side across to the right. Hang a small circle tag.

  8. Step 8: Front legs

Start at the collar. Draw a leg down to a round paw, up under the tag. Repeat. Add 2 toes.

  9. Step 9: Back paws and tail

Draw a hill paw at each bottom corner. Start on the right, draw a short tail, back to the body.

  10. Step 10: Wrinkles and ground

Near the top of the head, draw 2 short flat wrinkles. Draw a ground line under the paws.

  11. Step 11: Grey coat

Colour the head, ears, body, legs, paws and tail grey. Leave the eyes, muzzle, tongue and collar white.

  12. Step 12: Pink tongue, red collar

Colour the tongue pink and the collar red.

  13. Step 13: Dark muzzle

Colour the muzzle dark grey around the black nose, for the dark mask.
