How to Draw a Brontosaurus
Draw a brontosaurus in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top left draw an egg lying on its side for the head, a bit fatter at the back.
Tip The head is small and the body will be huge.
Step 2: Eye and smile
Draw a big round eye with a black dot inside. Dot a nostril on the snout. Add a smile.
Step 3: The long neck
Start under the chin. Draw a long curved line down to the right. Draw another from behind the head.
Tip Thin at the head, wider at the shoulders.
Step 4: Back and tail
Start where the back neck line ends. Draw over a round hump and down a long tail to a point.
Tip The tail gets thinner all the way to its tip.
Step 5: The tummy
Start where the front neck line ends. Draw round the chest, under the tummy and along to the tail tip.
Step 6: Front leg
Draw a tall front leg like a tree trunk: round top, flat foot. Add 2 toe lines.
Step 7: Back leg
Draw a back leg the same way, a little fatter at the top. Add 2 toe lines.
Tip Keep the 2 feet level.
Step 8: The far legs
Behind each leg draw a thin strip of far leg: start under the body, go down to a heel.
Step 9: Tummy line
Start low on the front of the neck. Draw a line along the body to the back leg.
Step 10: Back spots
Draw 3 small ovals along the top of the back.
Step 11: The ground
Draw a straight ground line under the feet, from the left of the page to the right.
Step 12: Colour it blue
Colour the head, neck, back, tail and 2 near legs blue. Leave the eye, tummy and spots white.
Step 13: Cream tummy, navy legs
Colour the tummy band cream. Colour the 2 far legs and the 3 spots navy.
