How to Draw a Fist

9 steps · Medium · about 7 min

Draw a fist in 9 easy steps, about 7 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: side of the hand.

Print

  1. Step 1: Side of the hand

Start near the top middle. Draw a long C out to the left and down; stop low on the left.

  2. Step 2: The top finger

Start at the top of the side line. Draw a fat sideways U out and back; stop a bit lower.

  3. Step 3: Three more fingers

Start where the first finger stopped. Draw 3 more curled fingers underneath, each smaller, and stop with the smallest.

Tip They stack like a pile of fat sausages.

  4. Step 4: The thumb

From the side line, draw a thumb over the top 2 fingers, round the tip and back to the side.

  5. Step 5: Nail and knuckles

Draw a small rounded nail near the thumb tip. Add a short curve near the front of 3 fingers.

  6. Step 6: The wrist

Draw 2 wrist lines down, from the bottom of the side line and under the smallest finger. Stop them level.

  7. Step 7: The cuff

Under the wrist lines, draw a soft rectangle a little wider than the wrist for the cuff.

  8. Step 8: Pink nail, peach fist

Colour the nail pink. Then colour the fingers, thumb, hand and wrist peach, around the nail.

  9. Step 9: Blue cuff

Colour the cuff blue. Go over your lines and your fist is done.
