How to Draw a Ballerina Dancing
Draw a ballerina dancing in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room on both sides for the arms and the kicking leg.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 round eyes with a dot, shine and lash. Add a tiny nose, a big smile and eyebrows.
Step 3: Hair and bun
Draw the hair over the top of the head, with a curved fringe across the forehead. Add a round bun.
Step 4: Neck and leotard
Add 2 neck lines. Under them, draw the leotard from one shoulder across to the other, in at the waist.
Tip The leotard hugs the body: it goes in at the waist.
Step 5: The tutu
Across the bottom of the leotard, draw a very wide flat oval sticking out far on both sides.
Step 6: Two arms
From each shoulder, draw an arm with an open end: one curving up by the head, one stretched out.
Step 7: Two hands
On each arm, draw a round mitten hand with a small thumb, from one arm line across to the other.
Step 8: Leg on tiptoe
Under the left of the tutu, draw a long leg and a pointed shoe. Add a ground line under it.
Tip Ballerinas stand on the very tips of their toes.
Step 9: Leg stretched back
From the right of the tutu, draw the other leg stretched out and a little up. Add a pointed shoe.
Step 10: Music notes
Draw a music note on each side: a circle, a line up and a flag.
Step 11: Peach skin
Colour the face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Pink tutu and shoes
Colour the leotard, tutu and shoes pink.
Step 13: Black hair
Colour the hair, bun and music notes black. Go over your lines and your ballerina is dancing!
