How to Draw a Fisherman
Draw a fisherman in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 eyes, a nose and a smile. Start a C ear on each side, ending on the head.
Step 3: Bucket hat
Start above the left eye. Draw a hat over the top to the right. Add a floppy brim.
Step 4: Beard
Under the mouth draw a beard: start on one cheek, swing a U under the chin, stop on the other.
Step 5: The shirt
Under the beard draw the shirt: 2 slanting shoulder lines, then straight down to a flat bottom.
Step 6: Vest with pockets
Over the shirt draw 2 vest flaps down to the hem, open in the middle. Add 2 pocket boxes.
Step 7: Long sleeves
Draw 2 sleeves from the vest tops, round the shoulders and back. The left hangs down, the right bends in.
Step 8: Mitten hands
On the left draw a mitten hanging down. On the right draw a mitten pointing in, with a thumb bump.
Step 9: Fishing rod and fish
From the right hand draw a rod up over the arm. Hang a line with a fish on the end.
Step 10: Waders, boots, ground
From the vest's left corner draw 2 wader legs across to the arm. Add 2 boots and a ground line.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour pink cheeks, then face, ears and hands peach around them. Leave eyes and beard white.
Step 12: Tan vest, sky shirt
Colour the hat, vest and rod tan around the hands, then the shirt and sleeves sky blue around the rod.
Step 13: Orange fish, green waders
Colour the fish orange, then the waders and boots green around the arm and hand.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a fisherman, drawn by you.
