How to Draw a Figure Skater
Draw a figure skater in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, draw an egg for the head. Leave room on each side for the arms.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 round eyes with black dots and a tiny lash each. Add a U nose and a smile.
Step 3: Hair, fringe and bun
Draw the hair as a cap over the head, with a fringe across the forehead. Add a bun on top.
Step 4: Neck and dress
Draw 2 neck lines. From them, draw a dress with puff sleeves and a flared skirt, back to the neck.
Step 5: Arms out wide
From each sleeve, draw an arm reaching out to the side, getting thinner, and stop at the wrist.
Step 6: Open hands
At each wrist, draw an egg mitten pointing out, with a round thumb sticking up, back to the wrist.
Step 7: Standing leg and skate
From the hem's left, draw a leg to a thin ankle. Add a boot with a blade on 2 posts.
Step 8: Lifted leg and skate
From the right of the hem, draw a leg out sideways, bent at the knee. Add a boot and blade.
Tip She balances on one skate, so this leg is up in the air.
Step 9: Ice and sparkles
Draw the ice line under the blade, right across your paper, with 2 scratch marks. Add 3 four-point sparkles.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks, then the face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Purple dress, blue ice
Colour the dress purple, and the ice and sparkles sky blue. Leave the skates white.
Step 12: Brown hair and bun
Colour the hair and bun brown. Go over your lines and she is done.
